Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Nestled along the scenic River Road in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California, Foster Vineyard stands as a testament to the region's esteemed winemaking heritage. Planted in the early 2000s, this vineyard has carved out a reputation for producing exceptional Pinot Noir, celebrated for its depth and complexity. The Russian River Valley, renowned for its cool climate and maritime influence, provides an ideal environment for cultivating premium grapes. Blanketed by morning fog and refreshed by coastal breezes, the vineyard's Huichica loam soil nourishes the vines, imparting richness and character to the fruit. Benefiting from warm daytime temperatures and cool nights, Foster Vineyard ensures that its grapes achieve perfect ripeness while retaining vibrant acidity, resulting in wines that are full-flavored and well-balanced. This combination of terroir and meticulous viticulture yields wines that capture the essence of the Russian River Valley's unique charm and allure.
Production Notes
The grapes are whole cluster pressed and settled for two days. The juice is then racked off the lees and warmed to 60 degrees to encourage native fermentation. When fermentation begins, the fermenting juice is barreled down into stainless steel and oak barrels. The wine is aged on the lees that is stirred twice a month for five months, then bottled.
